Well, so much for a slow first class. . .I know that we covered a lot of material in the first day; unfortunately, we only have 10 dates, so things will be moving quickly. I will do my best to take into account the steep learning curve that many of you may experience, but we do have much to cover.
Last class, we did the intros and then I had you create your own blog. All but two of the blog addresses turned in to me worked, so that's pretty good. I also had you look at the instructions for the intro letter and the EdTechProfile. Tonight, I will discuss how to post a blog and insert a picture into the journal entry (don't let me forget to introduce Photobooth!), how to take a screen selection of your completed EdTechProfile, and I will introduce the Journal Article assignment(expectations are in WebCT) and the Social Bookmarking assignment. I will also introduce you to EdModo. . .again, don't let me forget ;-)
You should have already purchased your ISTE membership and your TaskStream accounts. The first journal entry will be a free article from ISTE's L&L (Learning and Leading with Technology).
Remember to come to class early if you need some extra help and check webCT email frequently.

My favorite is Mariah Carey because when I was younger my dad listened to her and I confused her with my oldest sister Niki because they looked alike (and my dad didn't always correct me!). I also love her music and it seems I can find some of her music to fit any mood I'm in.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite artist at the moment is Persue, a street artist based here in San Diego. His graffiti is amazing and he designs really cool shoes for Osiris Shoe Co. My favorite musician right now is Michael Jackson. His passing rekindled all sorts of good memories from the 80's and early 90's not to mention he's just flat out the best stage performer ever!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite artist right now is Lady Gaga. I know that "they" are playing her songs a lot, a lot, a lot on the radio right now, but I can't get sick of them and they always put me in a good mood!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite artist at the moment is Jeff Koons. I saw an exhibit if some of his art last summer in Vancouver and always thought that it was poorly executed from the images I had seen, but after having seen some of it in person, I am now very enamored of his light hearted post-modern style.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I did recently rekindle my love for some of Mariah Carey's classics, I would have to say that my current favorite is Phoenix, a rock/alternative band from France. I saw them five years ago in Paris when they opened for Beck and thought they were ok, but over the years I've gotten hooked on their generally quick tempo and catchy tunes. They came out with a new album this year and it's great!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite band is Dave Matthews Band. I have been to see them an embarrassing number of times in concert, and I have no plans to stop. As long as they continue to go on tour, my roommate from college and I will meet up for at least one show a season. My favorite artist is Jason Mraz. I've been to see him a few times in concert as well, and absolutely love his voice.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite artist is Mike Ness from Social Distortion. Lately I have just really been into old school SoCal Punk Rock and Social Distortion is my favorite by far.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite artist is THE DREAM. I did not know who he was a week ago but after seeing him perform at JET nightclub in Las Vegas on the Fourth of July, I am a fan. He sings "Rockin' that thang" and "Walking on the Moon".

ReplyDeleteI'm currently liking will.i.am and Fergie. I really started liking him during the presidential campaign--I love the optimism of 'Its a New Day". And I like the beat of "Boom Boom Pow"--I know its a corny song, but I can't help liking it!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite musician at the moment is Kanye West because my niece is obsessed with him. She is only turning five but she knows many of his songs and sings along and dances to his music on the radio. It is the funniest thing I have ever seen. She has some crazy rhythm for a little girl.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite artists right now is Zero Zero. A fun fusion of techno and indie, it always has a good beat that gets me going in the gym.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite artist is a toss up between Regina Spektor and Lil Wayne (I know, their music styles are a bit different). =) Lil Wayne's music always has a nice beat, and his lyrics are pretty intense. Regina Spektor is soooo quirky, which I love, and she has an amazing voice. Her songs always have meaningful lyrics, and that's cool because lots of artists nowadays just sing whatever crap will sell records.
ReplyDeleteThis one is tough because I like a lot of different types of music. My top three right now are Jack Johnson, Rise Against, and Dave Matthew's Band. I like the musical talent of Dave, the lyrics of Jack, and the energy of Rise Against.
ReplyDeleteCurrently my favorite artist is Alicia Keys. Her music and lyrics honestly speak to me on a whole different level. At times I even feel as though if she did not right the song...I would have. She is amazing and strong and I love it!!! Genres of music I prefer are anything that sounds good. I do not just stick to one style of music - I venture out and appreciate great artistry.
ReplyDeleteI love this Spanish group called Maná. I'm pretty sure that this is Spanish rock/pop (?). Well, what matters is that the are a group that's been around for a while and all their songs are great. Kind of like a Spanish version of U2. Their songs are fun and soothing.
ReplyDeleteI like to listen to Kanye West songs such as Heartless and Goodlife. I didn't know Kanye West until my son kept listening his songs from radio every day. I also like Iranian music style becauseI am a Persian. Naser Cheshm Azar is my favorit Iranian musician.
